Hawaiian Chieftain won’t make it to Aberdeen Splash Festival

Due to maintenance delays, the tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain will not be making her scheduled visit to the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport during the Splash Festival, but the Lady Washington will still be present for tours and sails, according to a Seaport statement.

The Chieftain was set to participate in the Fourth of July festivities at Seaport Landing from July 3-7.

Hawaiian Chieftain was forced to cancel her Aberdeen visit after maintenance delays during haul out in Port Townsend,” according to the Seaport. “The vessel will continue her out-of-water hull work during the days she was scheduled to appear alongside Lady Washington in Aberdeen.”

Lady Washington will still be open for scheduled Aberdeen tours and sails July 3-7, including educational field trips, adventure and evening sails, a special excursion to Westport and back, and the annual Fireworks Sail July 4. Battle Sails will be changed to Adventure Sails, and guests will automatically be refunded the difference in price.

For information, or to cancel or transfer tickets, guests should call 800-200-5239.
