Harbor Regional Health’s nurses shine

At Harbor Regional Health, nurses are at the heart of patient care across the community. Every day, from the emergency room to the operating room, from HarborCrest to the family birth center, and from outpatient clinics to Ambulatory Infusion Services, nurses deliver skill, compassion and an unwavering commitment to those they serve.

During National Nurses Week, the spotlight turns to the people behind the scrubs, professionals whose work is deeply personal. Many Harbor Regional Health nurses grew up in Grays Harbor, returning to care for the very neighbors and families who raised them.

Erin Christensen

Erin Christensen, RN, is one of those hometown heroes. A graduate of Ocosta High School, Christensen grew up in Grayland among the cranberry bogs her family still tends today. She began her nursing career at Harbor Regional Health in 2008, working evenings on the medical-surgical floor before moving to the Critical Care Unit.

“The people I work with have become family,” Christensen said. “What’s kept me here all these years is knowing I’m making a real difference for my patients — and carrying those memories with me long after.”

Faith Matthews

Faith Matthews, RN, represents the next generation of nurses at Harbor Regional Health. A recent graduate of Grays Harbor College’s nursing program, Matthews now serves patients on the third-floor medical-surgical unit.

“I feel blessed to care for the community that raised me,” Matthews said. “It’s an honor to give back, and I’m excited for all the ways I’ll continue to serve our patients with compassion and respect. To those of you who have been my patients, I hope you are doing well. To all of my future patients, listen to your body, go to your PCP, and I look forward to serving you!”

Janette (Jan) Cebular

Janette (Jan) Cebular, RN, brings more than three decades of experience to Harbor Regional Health. Born and raised in Aberdeen and Cosmopolis, Cebular graduated from Grays Harbor College’s nursing program and started her career at Community Hospital in 1989. After eight years on the medical-surgical floor, she transitioned into Surgical Services, where she continues to work today in the OR, PACU, and Day Surgery.

“Grays Harbor is home, and it means so much to serve the community that has always been my home,” Cebular said. “After 36 years, I’m proud to still be here, taking care of our community every day.”

Though each nurse’s path is different, they are bound by a common commitment: to bring comfort, healing, and compassion to every patient they encounter.

This Nurses Week, Harbor Regional Health honors the skill, dedication, and heart of its nursing team, and extends a heartfelt thank you to every nurse making a difference in Grays Harbor County.
