Meth bust in Aberdeen

An Aberdeen Police officer monitoring traffic at the intersection of B and Market saw a pickup truck at the 7-Eleven registered to a 53-year old woman with a suspended license. When checking the vehicle registration after making contact, the officer noticed the woman appeared to be palming a plastic baggie that held a white powder consistent with the appearance of methamphetamine. When asked, the woman said she had nothing in her hand, even when the officer shined his flashlight on her hand. Another officer arrived and the female was placed under arrest for the suspended license. The vehicle and driver were taken to the Aberdeen jail.

Social media posts bring tips, lead to fraud arrest

Aberdeen Police Detective Jeff Weiss said social media posts Monday of a man using a lost or stolen credit card led to several tips and eventually the arrest of the suspect outside the Aberdeen Goodwill later that day. The suspect is due for arraignment Tuesday on the charge of identity theft.
