Arrest puts dent in vehicle prowl reports

The arrest of an Aberdeen man who was caught car prowling Tuesday seems to have put at least a temporary hold on the growing number of car prowl incidents reported in recent weeks. Initially handed misdemeanor charges, further investigation into the suspect resulted in two more felony vehicle prowl charges. “We have not had a vehicle prowl since he was arrested,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant Kevin Darst.

Crouching in the crawlspace

Aberdeen Police found a male subject hiding inside a crawl space in an upstairs bedroom at 225 East Curtis Street Thursday afternoon. The man was identified and Aberdeen Municipal Court warrants were confirmed. The man resisted but was arrested and booked on his warrants.

Pot shop pilfered, Passat sought

The Sweet Leaf Cannabis store, 100 Old Hill Road in Aberdeen, was robbed by two masked intruders early Monday morning. Aberdeen police believe a silver or white Volkswagen Passat four-door that possibly has a crease on the passenger side front quarter panel is related to the crime and ask anyone with information on the burglary or car contact them.

Items taken in multiple High-N-Dry heists

The High-N-Dry storage facility at 804 Southwest Boulevard in Aberdeen has had seven storage units broken in to in the past week. Several different items were taken, such as Christmas ornaments and a cowboy hat. Three storage units have been hit within the last week; it is probable that it’s the same guys, according to Aberdeen Police.
