Aberdeen city councilors to hold town halls

Meetings are intended to strengthen community engagement, solicit feedback

Over the next six weeks, Aberdeen city councils will conduct a series of town hall meetings “aimed at strengthening community engagement and providing residents with the opportunity to share feedback, ask questions and learn more about city initiatives and priorities” the city of Aberdeen announced via press release.

According to the press release, each town hall will include a brief presentation by city leaders, followed by a Q&A session.

“These town halls are an important opportunity for us to listen, learn, and work together with the community,” said City Council President Sydney Swor. “We encourage everyone to attend and be part of shaping the future of Aberdeen.”

Aberdeen School District superintendents will also present information plans for new school construction as part of Washington state’s Seismic School Safety Grant Program.

“At this year’s strategic planning session, the council stated they wanted more opportunities to engage with the community,” said Mayor Doug Orr. “What better way to engage with our community than in their neighborhoods? I also think it’s a great way for people to meet their elected officials.”
