The North Aberdeen Bridge will be down to one lane for approximately one week.

The city of Aberdeen has started repairs to portions of deteriorated concrete streets including Bradford Street near Alden Road and 5th Street between Canyon Court and Elliot Lane, the city announced via press release.

Both segments will be fully closed for approximately three weeks to expedite the removal and replacement of damaged roadway sections. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes.

In addition, a single-lane closure on the North Aberdeen Bridge began yesterday. The southbound lane will be closed for additional “geotechnical drilling,” with all traffic diverted onto the northbound lane.

Minor delays should be expected as both northbound and southbound traffic will be controlled by flaggers. This work is expected to last throughout the week with daily operations occurring from 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In the interest of public safety, the city encourages residents to “stay alert, watch for traffic control devices, and obey all construction signs and flagging personnel.”
