A wet Halloween didn’t dissuade trick or treaters

The forecast of rain for Friday afternoon arrived on schedule, resulting in a soggy afternoon for Montesano’s Downtown Trick or Treat and Elma’s Halloween Fall Fest, events sponsored by the respective city’s Chamber of Commerce.

For many trick or treaters, umbrellas, rain boots and rain jackets complemented their costumes of superheroes, Nintendo characters, Disney characters and dinosaurs.

In Elma, two blocks of the downtown were closed to traffic so people could freely walk to businesses on either side of the street. At the Dave Osgood Visitor Information Center, a DJ played music and there was a fall backdrop for photos.
