13th COVID-19 death reported in Grays Harbor County

Death occurred in July, autopsy attributes death to the virus

A 13th COVID-19 death attributed to the month of July was reported by Grays Harbor County Public Health Wednesday.

“Grays Harbor Public Health is reporting a death that occurred in July that has since been attributed to COVID-19 following an autopsy per Grays Harbor County Health Officer Dr. John Bausher,” read a public health statement.

As with previous reported deaths, no additional information about the case will be released by county public health officials.

Three new COVID-19 cases were also reported Wednesday, bringing the county’s total to 745. The most current month-by-month breakdown of cases is: one in February, six in March, five in April, six in May, 22 in June, 68 in July, 188 in August,263 in September, and 183 in October.

Public health reported 14 new contacts identified Wednesday, bringing total contact investigations to 1,276. Public health is still dealing with some reporting issues so the number of active cases and active contact investigations were not available Wednesday.
