Skyler Taylor is the Rotary Club’s Aberdeen High School Student of the Month for November. She will be honored Wednesday during the group’s regular Zoom meeting.

Skyler, daughter of Heather and Seth Taylor, has competed in varsity cross country, track and basketball. She served as cross country team captain for her junior year and has been named MVP in both track and cross country. In basketball, she earned the Coach’s Award and Academic Athletic awards four times.

She volunteers often at the Westport VFW, serving and interacting with the veterans and community. She also helps welcome incoming freshmen at AHS as a member of the LinkCrew, and she has volunteered at many kids soccer and basketball camps.

In addition, she is in her fourth year of American Sign Language and has worked extensively at the Cats Cave which she says led her into the love of customer service. She is now a barista at Tinder Box Coffee Roasters.

Skyler plans to attend Montana State University at Billings, where she will major in exercise science while continuing to compete in cross country and track.

Each year, the Aberdeen Rotary Club honors Aberdeen High School seniors through its Student of the Month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month between October and May. In June, two of these eight students are then selected for either the $1,000 “Blue” or $2,000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
