Music scholarship apps requested via email

The Grays Harbor Music Teachers Association is making some changes to its 2020 music scholarship application process.

Because of the COVID-19 crisis, the Grays Harbor Music Teachers Association is making some changes to its 2020 music scholarship application process.

The organization will now accept emailed submissions of official transcripts from high schools, colleges and universities. They must be emailed directly from those institutions’ counseling centers to Christine Hill, co-chairwoman of the scholarship committee, at hillstop@comcast.net.

The group also now encourages email submission of letters of recommendation directly to Hill from those teachers, professors, directors and others.

Finally, to make it easier for the scholarship committee to review the applications without having to meet in person, they are asking students to email their application form with essay and questionnaire.

All of these elements must arrive in Hill’s inbox by Monday, May 11, for consideration.

Applicants may still mail applications via the U.S. Postal Service, but given the current situation, email would be preferred.
