Most Harbor restaurants still cooking

In response to the mandated closure of public dining rooms, many Harbor restaurants are still cooking up carry-out meals (some with curbside service), while some are scaling back to offer limited menus for pickup or delivery.

Still others are shutting down operations to wait out the pandemic.

Casa Mia in Hoquiam posted a sign saying the Italian restaurant would be closed until further notice. “We love you and miss you!” it reads. “See you on the other side of this!”

The 8th Street Ale House in Hoquiam and Galway Bay Irish Restaurant & Pub in Ocean Shores are closing “to do some maintenance and deep cleaning,” according to their Facebook pages. “Hopefully we see you all in two weeks.”

The owners of the Westport Winery Garden Resort are offering curbside pickup daily between noon and 5 p.m. for the rest of this week, then temporarily closing their doors.

“We do not know the duration of this closure,” says their Facebook post. “We sincerely hope that it is brief and effective in helping to stop the spread of Covid-19.”

The owners of two Aberdeen favorites — Billy’s Bar & Grill and the Breakwater Restaurant — were still discussing their options Monday.

The Breakwater might do limited takeout, but Billy’s isn’t really set up for curb service, said co-owner Gary Running. “We’re still throwing around ideas,” he said. “We may just close for renovations. This might be a window to get some work done that needed done anyway.”

Pub Monte in Montesano has announced it will be open with a limited menu from 5 to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday. In addition to “take and bake” pizza, co-owner Brooke Hoiness posted on Facebook that she’ll offer a select menu of one or two family-style meals that will change daily.

They’ll even offer free delivery, she said — “just tip our drivers!”

Most other restaurants we checked on were continuing operations on a takeout-only basis; those that already offered delivery, such as Westside Pizza and Domino’s, will continue to do so. The list we’ve been able to compile to date is below.

These delivery services are available in Grays Harbor County for those who do not wish to go out at all:

• Dumpling.us (any store, pharmacy or restaurant)

• Instacart.com (Safeway only)

• Postmates.com (restaurants)
