Maintaining a 4.0 GPA, the daughter of Julie and Kelly Niemi has been a Top Scholar since her freshman year — and a Scholar Athlete in cheer and track. She also has received a “Pin It Forward” award as most motivating cheerleader, as well as a coaches award for cheerleading.

In addition to the cheer and track teams, Madilyn is active on AHS’ Renaissance Action Team — a leadership group that strives to recognize every student and highlight what is special about them. She also serves as a Positive Behavior Intervention Supports ambassador.

Throughout her high school career she has participated in planning, organizing and running Food Ball, an annual food drive where students collect nonperishable goods for local food banks. She also has organized several blood drives.

After graduation, she plans to study mental and physical health at a four-year college. She also intends to continue running track at college.

Each year, the Aberdeen Rotary Club honors Aberdeen High School seniors through its Student of the Month recognition and scholarship program. One senior is recognized each month between October and May. In June, two of these eight students are then selected for either the $1,000 “Blue” or $2,000 “Gold” scholarship to the school of their choice.
