2019 Shop with a Cop

The air was pierced with sirens Saturday morning as the county’s police departments and the Sheriff’s Office paraded 60 kids to Walmart during the 21st Shop with a Cop event.

The kids were treated to a huge breakfast at Aberdeen High School, presented by the culinary class, before heading to Walmart, where each got a $100 gift card to the store to pick up gifts for friends and family. Each kid was also presented a stocking full of goodies and, new this year, a blanket.

A long list of sponsors raised more than $10,000 for the event this year. Numerous local businesses and individuals, and many of the law enforcement unions in the county, contributed.

Participating law enforcement included the Sheriff’s Office and police officers from Hoquiam, Aberdeen, McCleary and Cosmopolis.
