Letter: There oughta be a law

I’m writing in response to the article in the Oct. 24 edition of The Daily World in regard to the City of Olympia’s mailer sent to citizens urging a “no” vote on Initiative 976.

As Tim Eyman, the sponsor of the initiative stated, this mailer is “blatantly illegal.” It was sent to approximately 15,000 households at a cost of $7,423. Since it was sent illegally, the money used to send the mailer was essentially stolen. Money used and/or taken without permission is theft. Most people who steal from their employer are fired from their job and often prosecuted.

I would like to know the consequences of this illegal act for those responsible, and I feel that we citizens have a right to know.

In my opinion they should be fired and prosecuted for theft.
