$168.6M for 19th District projects in state Capital Budget

District 19 lawmakers added to the list of Southwest Washington projects that should expect a funding boost from the state’s capital budget. On Friday, Rep. Jim Walsh, R-Aberdeen, reported that $168.6 million in capital construction projects were included in the budget.

“This latest slate of projects continues the 19th District’s tradition of outperforming in the capital budget. It was great working with my colleagues Rep. Joel McEntire and Sen. Jeff Wilson to get this done,” Walsh said in a statement.

Some of the local and regional projects funded in District 19 — which includes Pacific and Wahkiakum counties as well as portions of Cowlitz, Lewis and Grays Harbor counties — include some overlap with District 20 projects, and are as follows:

■ Chehalis Basin Strategy (including North Shore Levee and South Satsop restoration): $70 million

■ Grays Harbor College/Student Services and Instructional Building: $47.7 million

■ Naselle Hatchery Renovation: $15 million

■ Coastal Community Action Program (Aberdeen): $2.9 million

■ Seaport Landing/Former Weyerhaeuser Site (Aberdeen): $2 million

■ Willapa Center Housing Project (Raymond): $1.8 million

■ East Fork Grays River Floodplain Reconnection (Wahkiakum): $1.3 million

■ SP Willapa Hills Trail (Pacific County) Bridges: $1.15 million

■ Public Building/Homeless Housing Conversion Pilot (Grays Harbor): $900,000

■ City of Ilwaco/Drinking Water Source Protection (Ilwaco): $721,000

■ Ports of Ilwaco/Chinook Infrastructure (Ilwaco & Chinook): $634,000

■ Forks Creek Hatchery/Renovate Intake and Diversion: $511,000

■ Coastal Community Action Program Service Center (Aberdeen): $500,000

■ RP Chehalis River Davis Creek Expansion (Grays Harbor): $438,000

■ South Bend School Multi-Use Field Upgrades (South Bend): $361,000

■ Ocean Beach Medical Group/Ilwaco Clinic (Pacific): $309,000

■ SLRE Elk River Unit Habitat Enhancements: $96,000

■ American Legion Veterans Housing & Resource Ctr (Raymond): $88,000

■ SLRE Leadbetter Point Coastal Dune Restoration: $80,000

■ Public Schools PG (Raymond): $50,000

■ Maritime Museum Rehabilitation Project: $20,000
