Food giveaway

Molina Healthcare of Washington and Sea Mar Community Health Centers distributed more than 200 bags of healthy food items June 29 in Ocean Shores.

This was their third grocery giveaway in Grays Harbor County this summer. The reusable bags contained fruit, vegetables, wheat bread and pasta.

A health educator from Sea Mar also demonstrated how to make a healthy chicken salad. Samples and recipes were provided to attendees.

Afterward, leftover foods — including apples, tuna, salad, bread and vegetables — were donated to the nearby North Beach Senior Center.
