Elma softball player Molly Johnston signed a National Letter of Intent on March 17 to play for Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. next season.

“I’ve been playing softball my whole life and I am so grateful for this opportunity,” Johnston said. “I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help from all my coaches and support from my family. I’m so excited to play at the next level.”

Johnston currently leads the Eagles — the state’s No. 3 team — with a .543 batting average.
