Teddy Burt Prescott, 70, Aberdeen resident and retired Heavy Equipment mechanic for Weyerhaeuser Bay City Sorting Yard, passed away Feb. 27, 2019, at his home in Aberdeen.

Teddy Burt Prescott, 70, Aberdeen resident and retired Heavy Equipment mechanic for Weyerhaeuser Bay City Sorting Yard, passed away Feb. 27, 2019, at his home in Aberdeen.

Teddy was born on Nov. 27, 1948, in Portland, Oregon to Ted and Betty Rae (Tissien) Prescott. He grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1967. He then attended Grays Harbor Community College.

On Dec. 6, 1968, he married Catherine Ann DeMoss in Aberdeen. She resides at the family home.

Teddy worked at Weyerhaeuser Bay City Sorting Yard for over 30 years and retired at the age of 60. Before that he worked for Russ Ellison’s Pontiac for seven years.

Teddy enjoyed his daily rounds of visiting friends, fast cars Harley Davidson Motorcycles, tinkering in his “Man Cave” basement and watching the Seahawks with his close friends, Gerry Gitchel and Pat Whitlock.

Teddy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Ann Prescott of Aberdeen; a son, Ted Brandon Prescott of Aberdeen; a daughter, Candi Dyan Prescott-Pierog of Aberdeen; three grandchildren: Katie Lyn Pierog, Kayla Sue Pierog and Johnathon Carl Pierog; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Peggy Durrin of Eastern Washington and Trudy Garrison of Humptulips, and “Uncle Turkey“ was loved by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Patty Fleming.

Ted was loved by many and will be truly missed.

There will be a celebration of life in honor of Ted.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
