Alice Phelps, a former longtime Aberdeen City Council member, received recognition for her many years of service during Wednesday’s council meeting.

Phelps spent more than 19 years as a council member representing Aberdeen’s Ward 2 between 1998 to 2017.

“For Ward 2, I really appreciate their votes, all their support, and thank you for recognizing we really did work with everything that was shot at us,” Phelps said at the meeting.

The council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and expressing the City of Aberdeen’s appreciation for Phelps’ services. She was presented with a glass plaque to commemorate the occasion.
