Heath nabs second Summer Challenge Series win

Colton Heath took home his second 360 Summer Challenge Series win at Grays Harbor Raceway Saturday.

Heath increases his points lead in the 360 Sprint Car Summer Challenge Series with the victory. David Greene won the 360 Limited Sprints final and Elma’s Nick Miles prevailed in the A Hornets.

Heath took advantage of a restart to take the lead in the 360 Sprint Car final and never looked back. Levi Kuntz would take second place followed by Kai Dixon, Shawn Rice and Cam Smith in fifth. The Summer Challenge will rotate back to Skagit Raceway next as the contest reaches its halfway point.

Greene dominated the 360 Limited Sprints final to secure his third win of the season and build his lead in the standings. Nate Geister and Taylor Burstyk rounded out the top three finishers.

Also capturing his third victory on the season, Miles used his front line starting position to burst into a lead he would never relinquish as he led all 20 laps of the A Hornets final. Aberdeen’s Austin Kerrigan was runner-up followed by Cory Sweatman, last week’s winner Trustin Sansom, and Reuben Pruett.

Mike Guffey won the B Hornets race and opted up to run the A final taking seventh place. Second place finisher Randy Goodman chose to keep his B Hornets points and moved into the top five spots.

Grays Harbor Raceway honored race driver and pit man Jason Reed with a memorial lap to honor his memory in what proved to be an emotional night at the track for his many friends and family. A memorial tribute truck convoy from the Quigg’s shop in Aberdeen to the raceway in Elma Saturday brought hundreds of people together to honor Reed’s memory.

The raceway hosts a double header this weekend on Friday and Saturday featuring the 360 Limited Sprint Showdown, the Northwest Focus Midgets and Dwarf cars on the docket. For more information or tickets please go to graysharborraceway.com or Facebook.
