Raynes named Hoquiam football defensive coordinator

Former Elma High School head football coach Larry Raynes has been named the Defensive Coordinator for Hoquiam Grizzlies, the school announced on Tuesday.

Raynes was a longtime assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the Eagles before taking over sole head coaching duties for the 2024-25 seasons.

In his playing days, Raynes was named all-state for the 2001 Elma state-championship team before embarking on a collegiate career as a defensive linemen for Eastern Washington University, the College of the Siskiyous and Eastern Oregon University.
