The Aberdeen Bobcats remained unbeaten on the season after taking down Black Hills 5-1 on Monday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats were once again led by the dominant play of their three singles players, Sophie Knutson, Kensie Ervin and Madi Ritter.
Knutson cruised past Black Hills’ top singles player, Kirsten Beaulieu, 6-0, 6-0 while Ervin and Ritter won their matchups 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
The Bobcats doubles teams of Hadley Durr/Sawyer Shoemaker and Zulma Ramos/Anais Cardenas Salazar won their matches to give Aberdeen the 5-1 victory.
“Our singles all stayed undefeated tonight with clean matches across the board,” Aberdeen head coach Ashley Kohlmeier said. “Knutson played quick, smart points with very few errors. I was especially impressed with our Doubles 1 team of Durr/Shoemaker, which made excellent adjustments during the match and played smart during clutch points.”
Aberdeen’s JV team won 7-2 on Monday, giving the Bobcats the sweep.
“Our JV team is full of brand new tennis players and everyone is making great progress as they learn a new sport,” Kohlmeier said. “They have been impressive and quick learners.”
