Police say man’s death not suspicious

Aberdeen police found the body of a 47-year-old man near the sidewalk in the 700 block of East Market Street Thursday morning.

“Nothing at this time appears to be suspicious or cause for concern to the safety of the community,” said Detective Jeff Weiss.

An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the manner of death and notification to next of kin, said Weiss.

One westbound lane was blocked by an ambulance and police vehicles at about 8:15 a.m. and a tent was set up over what appeared to be a covered up body on the sidewalk. The scene had been cleared about two hours later.

Aberdeen detectives are continuing their investigation.
