Aberdeen Lions name new officers, award winners

The Aberdeen Lions held their annual charter dinner Monday at the Rotary Log Pavilion.

During the evening, award winners were honored and new officers were installed for the year.

Aaron Gillies is the new president, with Bob Braden as past president.

Mike Barkstrom is first vice president, Andrea Leal is sewcond vice president and Andy Palmer is third vice president.

Erv Granahan is secretary, Fred Thurman is treasurer and Al Waters is membership director.

Candy Palmer and Jenee Bearden were installed as Lion Tamers, and Mike O’Connor as Tail Twister.

Filling out the board are Brian Peck, Nancy Bryson, Mike Welliver and Dr. Price Chenault.

Award winners were Steve Beck and Phyllis Granahan, Lions of the Year; Mary Thurman, Rookie of the Year; and Mike Barkstrom, Bull Thrower Award.
