Author David Jepsen will talk about his new book on Saturday, with an emphasis on the Harbor’s labor history prior to 1919.

In “Contested Boundaries: a New Pacific Northwest History,” Jepsen and co-author David Norberg argue that the history of the Pacific Northwest is a two-centuries-old conflict between people and governments struggling for control over the region’s land and resources.

During his lecture, Jepsen will share compelling, dramatic and humorous stories about people of all colors and classes who contested the political, economic and social barriers on their path to equality and full participation in the region’s society.

This free presentation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Polson Museum, 1611 Riverside Ave., Hoquiam.
