An all-time school scoring record was broke as Raymond closed out its regular season with a convincing 74-34 victory over South Bend on Wednesday at South Bend High School.

Raymond senior guard Tre’ Seydel put his name atop the all-time greats in the school’s history, scoring 26 points to pass Ken Hoffer for the No. 1 spot in Seagulls boys basketball history with 1,381 points. Hoffer’s record stood for 55 years.

Northwest Christian 57, Ocosta 56

Ocosta had its chances but came up short in a 57-56 loss to Northwest Christian on Wednesday in Lacey.

Ocosta (6-12, 3-10 2B Pacific) trailed the Wolverines (5-14, 4-9) by a point in the final minute of the game, but the Wildcats came up empty on multiple opportunities to gain the lead.

Down a point with 11 second left, Ocosta had the ball with a chance to win the game, but an over-and-back call gave the ball to NWC.

NWC missed the front end of the 1-and-1 free throw situation and Ocosta secured the rebound and a second chance at seizing the lead.

On the ensuing possession, an Ocosta shot from eight-feet away was blocked according to the referees, though the Ocosta faithful was calling for a foul.

With 0.7 seconds left, a desperation shot at the buzzer was off-target, giving NWC the win.

“Well, we played a lot better tonight, playing with intensity and effort from start to finish,” Ocosta head coach Jason Quinby said. “We gave ourselves plenty of opportunities to pull out a win, but some untimely mistakes and a questionable non-call in the last dozen seconds did us in.”

Mark Lewis had an outstanding game for the Wildcats, scoring a game high 21 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and recording six steals in the loss.

Kevin Agramon and Xander Prigmore added 11 points apiece while Josh Figueroa had six rebounds and four steals for Ocosta.
