Five Star Chevrolet car show returns Aug. 21

The second annual Five Star Chevrolet-Buick car show will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, at the dealership at 212 S. Boone St. in South Aberdeen from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In 2019, members of the Midnight Cruizers car club were contacted by the dealership and agreed to organize a car show for them, said club publicity chairman Mike Myers. Club members put together the advertising, helped park the cars and cooked burgers and hot dogs. This event followed closely behind Rod Fest in July, the club’s other annual car show.

“The car show was held at the dealership Aug. 17, 2019,” said Myers. “Trophies were awarded. Raffles, dash plaques, music and lunch were provided to all entrants by the dealership manager. Four prizes, including two Seahawks tickets, were also raffled.”

At that first show, 61 cars participated. This year, Myers is expecting more.

“As before, trophies will be awarded,” he said. “Raffles, dash plaques, music and lunch will be provided to all entrants by the dealership manager. Four prizes, again including two Seahawks tickets, will also be raffled. Cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome.”

The first 100 visitors to the show will get a car wash coupon. There is no fee to register a vehicle for the show. The first place entrant will receive two Seahawks tickets; second prize is a lawn mower, third prize is a full car detail, and fourth is 20 car wash coupons.
