The Elma rest area off eastbound State Route 8 will be closed at 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, until 4 p.m. the following day for maintenance, according to the State Department of Transportation.

Crews will close the site’s restrooms and grounds to complete several routine maintenance projects, including removing hazardous trees and conducting septic tank and water line repairs. The nearest rest area is the Scatter Creek Rest Area off northbound Interstate 5, north of Centralia.
