Right: Bottomfishing trip out of Westport are still producing lots of rockfish and some pretty big lingcod. Ryliegh Earl from Loon Lake, 14, brought this 23.8-pound lingcod to the derby scales Sept. 2.

Coho are making up the lion’s share of the salmon catch out of Westport these days, and on Aug. 27, Ronald Brulotte of Zillah took over the top spot in the Westport Charterboat Association derby with an 11.2-pounder.

Limits of rockfish are coming in regularly, and some nice lingcod weighing 20 pounds and better are coming in to the derby scales.
