Bar business veterans will open in Polish Club location

Whiskey Creek Saloon to open soon in Aberdeen

Kevin Bradshaw and Jeff Kuni, with more than 40 years in the bar business between them, are opening a new establishment soon in the Polish Club in Aberdeen.

It will be called the Whiskey Creek Saloon and they hope to open early next month, Bradshaw said.

“Food offerings will evolve over time,” said Bradshaw, owner of popular Welcome Inn in Hoquiam.

Kuni formerly operated the John’s River Lodge and still owns the property, although not the business.

The Polish Club Building at the corner of First Street and Washington Street has leased space for a corner bar for years, with several different owners trying their hand in recent years.

Bradshaw and Kuni will serve food and offer full bar service, including spirits.

The saloon will open by 6 a.m. for coffee and offer a simple morning menu. Lunch and evening specials will be offered and the menu will be expanding, Bradshaw said.

He said the location would fill a couple of needs in that section of the city. One would be to provide a place where “old timers” can get together and have coffee in the mornings. Another is to provide men and women with someplace safe to have a nice day or evening out.

The goal is to provide “a nice place for working-class people. For couples to spend time and for groups to meet,” he added.
