The WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties will host two free workshops in June.
The final program in the First Saturday workshop series will be offered June 3. “Practical Tips for Gardening” will cover a variety of topics that Master Gardeners have been asked about over the past year.
From composting and deadheading to tool maintenance and assessing soil quality from the weeds that grow, they will be answering many burning questions.
This two-hour workshop begins at 10 a.m. at the WSU Extension Office at the Elma Fairgrounds. A plant clinic will immediately follow. For more information, contact Cindy Burton at cindyaburton@comcast.net.
The second workshop, “The Art of Pruning,” will be offered at noon June 17. It will be the final program in the Master Gardening series at the Hoquiam Timberland Library.
Good pruning is one of the keys to a happy and healthy plant. After an explanation of basic pruning skills, Master Gardeners will lead a demonstration outside.
This program will run for 90 minutes. Be sure to dress for the weather. For more information, contact the library at 360-532-1710.
