Aberdeen-Woodland 3rd-place district soccer game cancelled due to COVID exposure

Beavers players under quarantine, causing Woodland forfeit of Saturday’s previously-scheduled contest

The Aberdeen boys soccer game against Woodland for third place in the 2A District 4 classification has been cancelled due to COVID exposure.

Several Woodland Beavers players were in proximity to a student that had tested positive for COVID and were placed under 14-day quarantine, leaving Woodland with less than 11 players available for Saturday’s previously-scheduled game at Stewart Field, thus causing Woodland to forfeit according to Aberdeen Athletic Director John Crabb, who received a phone call from Woodland administrators on Friday.

While none of the players were said to be actively ill, Woodland was forced to forfeit the contest, meaning the Bobcats finish the district tournament in third place.
