Port garners communications award
The American Association of Port Authorities has awarded the Port of Grays Harbor the 2018 Overall Award of Excellence for its Annual Business Report event entry into the 52nd annual AAPA Communications Awards Program.
The Port of Grays Harbor’s Business Report event originated in 2014 as a way to showcase the results and highlights of the prior year, along with the expectations for the coming year for customers, elected officials, community and business leaders, and industry partners. The Business Report, held every February and now in its 5th year, has become the Port’s signature event. Customers from across the country come to hear results, network with local business and community leaders, and share their insight. The theme of the event is also carried out in communications throughout the year including the annual results brochure, posters and outreach presentations.
The Port of Grays Harbor takes home the top award in the Category 1 division. The Port of Longview in Southwest Washington took the honors for Category 2 ports, and the Port of San Diego was the overall winner amongst Category 3 ports. The three categories are based on the size of the port’s public relations/advertising/marketing budget.
