Aberdeen boys swim team places fourth at final regular-season meet

Bobcats tally 196 points at Southwest Washington Invitational

The Aberdeen Bobcats placed fourth overall at the Southwest Washington Invitational on Saturday at Mark Morris High School in Longview.

Led by a third-place finish by Jacob Hallak in the 200-yard individual medley, the Bobcats placed fourth in the 20-team meet with 196 points.

“We came into this meet amid our preparations for the postseason,” Aberdeen head coach Rob Burns said. “That said, the boys competed well and came away with strong swims. The times were a little off from what we all are looking for, but everyone expects us to peak at the right time – the districts and state meets.”

On Saturday, Aberdeen’s two divers – Zeke Olson and Micah Schroeder – travel to Auburn to take part in the 3A District III Diving Championships, with 2A state-meet berths at stake.
