Two injured in SR105 crash near Ocosta

Two Aberdeen men were sent to Grays Harbor Community Hospital after a two-car crash on State Route 105 at Pirates Way near Ocosta Saturday.

According to the State Patrol, two vehicles were traveling northbound shortly after 3 p.m. when a car driven by a 19-year-old Aberdeen man attempted to pass a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Aberdeen man. As the lead vehicle attempted to turn onto Pirates Way, the passing vehicle struck it in the side, sending the passing vehicle into a ditch. The vehicle attempting the turn rolled down an embankment and landed on its top.

The driver and a 23-year-old Aberdeen man who was a passenger in the vehicle that rolled were transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. The driver of that vehicle is facing a charge of DUI, according to the State Patrol, while the driver of the passing vehicle, who was not injured, was cited with improper passing.
