Concert a great success
On Feb. 1, over 600 Harborites came together at the 7th Street Theatre for a John Denver Tribute concert to benefit Family Promise of Grays Harbor. The success of this event was the result of the efforts of so many people.
Our Family Promise Concert Committee organized the event. Members Alan Rammer, Julie Rabey and Arlene Torgerson deserve special thanks. Board members, volunteers and Family Promise employees made the event run smoothly. Alpha Media and Jodesha Broadcasting helped get the word out. The city of Hoquiam and Harbor Chiropractic helped with signs. Cori Deverse designed great posters and playbills. Safeway, Swansons and Monte Thriftway stepped forward to provide refreshments. Also Timberland Bank, Steve Poler of Edward Jones and Dunsire Printers helped defray costs.
Finally a huge thank-you to Ted Vigil, who donated his fee. Besides a great concert, Ted also donated all the proceeds from CD sales.. Thanks again to all who made this happen.

Grateful for help
On Dec. 23, on the way to an appointment in Aberdeen with my urologist, my chest tightened up and I couldn’t breathe.
With help from a stranger and my wife, we got into the East Campus lobby.
The Aberdeen Fire Department was called and with the help of an emergency crew I was transported to the emergency room at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
I was diagnosed with both lungs full of blood clots and admitted to the hospital.
I want to thank the man who helped my wife get me into the East Campus building, the emergency crew for their efficiency in their care for me and the doctors and nurses at Community Hospital.
Without God’s grace and these committed people, I wouldn’t be here writing this letter.
I saw firsthand the action of these fine individuals. I’m a very grateful man.
