Snow day means sledding for youngsters at Sam Benn Park Tuesday

Aberdeen and Hoquiam schools were closed Tuesday as a light blanket of snow covered the region, which brought out youngsters and their parents to Sam Benn Park in Aberdeen for sledding, snowball fights and building snowmen. Bundled-up, red-cheeked children took advantage of the snow and the park’s hilly terrain to enjoy a rare snow day as about an inch of the white stuff coated the ground by mid-morning.
