Quinault Nation’s vision

Economic agenda

The Quinault Indian Nation economic development agenda includes these items among two pages of ongoing or future projects:

• Develop and market tourism facilities and attractions that focus upon ecotourism, support local fishing and hunting guides, and generally serve to support Northwest Tribal Tourism’s Highway 101 Marketing Plan.

• Lead the region with the development of cross-laminated timber as an emerging approach to develop 21st Century building products.

• Take the lead role in developing telecommunications infrastructure for the Olympic Peninsula, focusing upon the needs of six tribal nations.

• Build infrastructure to meet the needs of members, including enhancements to the Moclips Highway, development of improved water systems, and the establishment of the scenic coastal highway from Taholah to Queets.

• Develop one or more renewable energy system (wind, biomass or similar) with the long-term goal of a nation-operated utility.

• Design and build a new upper village for both Taholah and Queets that would be safe from a potential tsunami, where residents could be relocated.

• Expand retail off-reservation businesses with new development and operations.
