Port of Grays Harbor names Shay deputy director

Satsop Business Park General Manager Alissa Shay has been named the new deputy director of the Port of Grays Harbor.

According to a press release issued by the Port of Grays Harbor, Shay has been responsible for the operations and business development at the Satsop Business Park since 2013, and attracted over 15 new tenants that totaled over 350,000 square feet of industrial space and generated more than 350 jobs.

“We are pleased to welcome Alissa Shay as the new Deputy Director of the Port of Grays Harbor. Her proven leadership and extensive experience at the Port’s Satsop Business Park will be invaluable as we continue to expand and enhance operations,” said Port of Grays Harbor Executive Director Leonard Barnes via press release. “Alissa’s dedication to innovation, efficiency, and business development aligns perfectly with our mission to drive economic development and create jobs across Grays Harbor. We are confident that her contributions will further strengthen the Port’s legacy of success.”

Shay holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from The Evergreen State College, a bachelor’s degree in Planning and Environmental Policy from Western Washington University and a Port Professional Manager Certification from the American Association of Port Authorities. Along with overseeing operations of the Satsop Business Park and Friends Landing, she will also now oversee the Industrial Property Division and the Marine Terminal Division.

The Port of Grays Harbor operates seven lines of business throughout Grays Harbor County including four deep-water marine terminals, marine pilotage services, industrial properties, the Westport Marina, the Satsop Business Park, Friends Landing and Bowerman Airport.
