One dead, two injured in fatal crash north of Raymond

The crash occured early Saturday morning

An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.

A South Bend man was killed and two others were injured in a motor vehicle crash after midnight on U.S. Highway 101 north of Raymond.

Michael Jane, 25, is dead as a result of the two-vehicle crash, while the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were transported for injuries, said Cmdr. Mike Parker of the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office.

Jane was driving southbound on Highway 101 before crossing the centerline and striking the vehicle, a camping-style van, Parker said, near milepost 66, several miles north of Raymond.

Personnel from the Washington State Patrol and Raymond and South Bend police departments responded to the crash, Parker said, and the highway was shut down for about five hours.

There’s currently no suspicion of drugs or alcohol being involved in the crash, Parker said.
