Montesano man dies in Monday morning wreck east of McCleary

A Montesano man was killed when his vehicle left State Route 108 and struck a tree Monday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Ronald J. Westberg, 57, was driving westbound, seven miles east of McCleary, just before 8 a.m. when his 1988 Toyota Supra crossed the center line and eastbound lanes before striking a large tree, according to the report. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the State Patrol.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
