Also named to the 26-member marine council were Dale Beasley of Ilwaco, and Sally Toteff and Michal Rechner, both of Olympia.

Thevik and Beasley will be representatives of commercial fishing, while Decker will represent Washington Sea Grant, and Dalan will represent the Grays Harbor Marine Resources Committee. Rechner represents the state Department of Ecology and Toteff the state Department of Ecology.

The Coastal Marine Advisory Council meets at the Port of Grays Harbor Commission Chambers Room, 1111 S. Wooding St., in Aberdeen. The next meeting is planned for June 13, with other meetings scheduled for Sept. 26 and Dec. 12. It looks at issues such as coastal resiliency, vessel traffic risk in the ocean and harbors, the potential for oil and gas leasing, and fishing sustainability.
