Elma grad hired as Aberdeen corrections officer

The Aberdeen Police Department added a new corrections officer to its staff on Monday.

Nathan Raffleson, a 2013 graduate of Elma High School, was sworn in as a corrections officer by Aberdeen Police Chief Steve Shumate. According to a department press release, Raffleson is an assistant football coach at Ocosta High School and aspires to eventually be a police officer. Raffleson’s father, Chris, is a firefighter with the Aberdeen Fire Department and mother Jennifer is a nurse at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
