Trespassers keep police busy over holiday

On Christmas day an Aberdeen Police officer spotted two subjects sleeping in an alcove in the 200 block of East Wishkah Street, under a clearly posted no trespassing sign, with food and beer cans scattered around them. The men were asked to leave; one complied, the other remained under his blanket and said he wasn’t leaving. The officer gave the man another chance, but when he refused to leave he was arrested for trespassing. The male who complied picked up their trash while the other was transported to the Aberdeen jail.

The following afternoon, at a boarded up residence in the 100 block of Washington Street that has had previous problems with squatters in the building, Aberdeen officers told a 44-year old female to move along.
