Aberdeen man arrested on suspicion of rape of a minor

32-year-old suspect arrested and booked into Grays Harbor County Jail Tuesday

A 32-year old Aberdeen man has been arrested and is being held in Grays Harbor County Jail on the charge of rape of a child in the third degree.

According to Aberdeen Police Lieutenant Kevin Darst, his department was notified by Child Protective Services Dec. 1 that a 14-year old girl had reported to a school counselor that she had been sexually assaulted. At a forensic interview at the Child Advocacy Center, the victim reported she was raped and molested over a period of several weeks. A search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence and several items were seized as evidence. The man was arrested Tuesday and remains in Grays Harbor County Jail awaiting arraignment.
