Aberdeen High School’s FFA chapter is taking its annual Mother’s Day plant sale online.

Starting this weekend, an order form will be available on the AHS website, www.asd5.org.

“Once the form is accessed, the public can view pricing, see some images, then fill out their order, which will generate an email to me,” said FFA adviser Mike Machowek. “At that point, I will process their order.”

Items available for sale include 12-inch hanging baskets, annual bedding plants, perennials, tomato starts and more. Prices vary. All proceeds will be used to support the FFA chapter’s community service projects and student leadership activities.

Pickups will be scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 6-7 and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 8 at the AHS greenhouse, located at the corner of Second and H streets. Buyers will choose a time within those hours to pick up their orders.

Customers will not be allowed in the greenhouse to shop, Machowek said — but they can drive up and make specific requests if they don’t submit an order in advance.

“We will get it for you while supplies last,” he said.

Payment is to be made at pickup, and buyers must place their cash or checks into a drop box. Because of COVID-19 safety measures, no money will be passed between people — which means no change can be returned. Donations also will be accepted.

There’s one major caveat: If the state’s “stay at home” order is extended beyond May 4, the sale will be canceled.
