The back-to-back rain events caused the west fork of the Satsop River to rise, and erode the bank where a utility pole was installed near Gleason Bridge. On Dec. 9, Grays Harbor PUD installed a new utility pole and restrung the primary wires. At the pole’s base, they attached a strap to anchor it to the bank to prevent it from falling into the water until CenturyLink could respond, but the pole went into the water on the evening of Dec. 10.
