Grays Harbor County jobless rate down

Grays Harbor County still has the third highest unemployment rate in in Washington at 6.1 percent.

Grays Harbor County still has the third highest unemployment rate in in Washington at 6.1 percent, with Pacific County (6.0 percent) ranking fourth.

The latest monthly unemployment figures do show a modest improvement for Grays Harbor County from August’s 6.3 percent rate.

King County’s unemployment remains at 3.9 percent in the September 2017 numbers released Tuesday, while all other counties in the Puget Sound region have unemployment rates below 4.8 percent.

Chelan County at 3.4 percent had the lowest unemployment rate, according to the figures compiled by the Employment Security Department.

Overall, the state gained 13,800 jobs in September, with the statewide unemployment rate holding firm at 4.6 percent.
