Aberdeen Sunday Market kicks off third season May 16

The Aberdeen Sunday Market will kick off its third season May 16.

For its third year, the market will feature local food and various vendors from 10 am. to 3 p.m. each week at its location at the south end of Broadway between Mount Olympus Brewery and Furniture World. On opening day, there will be live music by Amanda Ransom from noon to 2 p.m. and a free belly dance class from 10-11 a.m.

This season will include familiar vendors, including Sky Island and Bee Organic Farms, The Creative Ginger and WooHoo Winery. A number of new vendors are joining this year, LaBeste Farm, Mediterranean Flavors, Ocean Beach Roasters, Shoalwater Pottery and more.

This year the market introduces the POP Kids! program, which provides educational and fun activities centered around healthy eating and getting kids excited about trying new fruits and vegetables by giving them their very own vouchers to shop for what they want. All children are eligible to participate in the program, regardless of household income.

The Aberdeen Sunday Market is a good place to maximize benefits such as EBT and WIC. Use your EBT card at the Food Access Information Booth, and double your money for fresh fruits and vegetables with SNAP Market Match. The market will also be participating in the WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition programs again this year. See your local WIC office for details on FMNP Vouchers and how to get them. Bring your vouchers to the Food Access Info Booth to double your benefits on those as well.

As COVID restrictions lift, the market plans to bring more back live music, wellness activities, demonstrations and more. There will also be new market swag for pre-order.

The market is supported by the City of Aberdeen, Unforgettable Grays Harbor Tourism and Sierra Pacific.
