The Ambassador For Peace medal is for members of the military who served during the Korean War. On Monday, Aug. 21, 2018, Herb Beck of Montesano and Maurice Fox and Lloyd Jorgensen, both of Aberdeen, received the award at the Montesano Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Montesano. “This commemorative medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to American service men and women who served in the Korean War,” according to the state Department of Veterans Affairs website.
